Mazzalves parish and Ērberģe

Mazzalves parish lies in Sēlija, close to the Latvia–Lithuania border. Its centre is Ērberģe — a place where historic surroundings, nature and everyday local life create a calm and welcoming character.

A place by the Mēmele River

The parish landscape is shaped by fields, forests and rivers. The banks of the Mēmele, the Suseja River and local walking routes invite visitors to explore at an unhurried pace — on foot, by bicycle or while travelling between nearby cultural and natural sites.

Cultural heritage

Ērberģe Manor is one of the parish’s most important cultural heritage sites. The manor ensemble, its park and the nearby Ērberģe Evangelical Lutheran Church tell the story of the area. The surroundings also include Vecmēmele Manor, Kankaļi Roman Catholic Church and the Mazzalves parish history room.

Nature and recreation

Alongside rivers and forests, the region offers local sights such as the Great Lūlu Stone. A visit can be complemented by local food and active recreation at “Vairogi”.
