Rich Exhibition of Creative Works by Residents of the Sproģi Group Apartment
Throughout June, visitors to the Mazzalves Exhibition Hall could see a rich and very varied exhibition of creative works by residents of the day-care centre at the Aizkraukle Municipality Social Service Sproģi group apartment. The display included works created in art-therapy sessions led by Katrīna Dimsone, ceramics sessions led by Zanda Ragele, glass-art sessions led by Ingrīda Dektjarova, a woodwork workshop led by Jānis Krastiņš, card-making sessions led by Aija Jakubone and practical handicraft sessions led by Dzidra Ivanova. Portraits of the group-apartment residents, created by a professional photographer and displayed on the exhibition-hall walls, made the exhibition especially personal and warm.
Mazzalves residents and parish guests visited the exhibition with interest. Former Mēmele Social Care Centre manager Mārīte Grigāne spoke many warm words about it, as several current residents of the Sproģi group apartment had once been her clients. Residents of the Mēmele Social Care Centre also viewed the exhibition with joy and interest. A delegation from the Pierīga Partnership association, visiting Ērberģe for an exchange of experience, also praised the display.
Thank you to the management of the Sproģi group apartment for the opportunity to see the rich creative collection of the day-care centre residents.
Žanna Miezīte, Mazzalves Community Centre Manager
